Untangling is a self-portrait photograph of Jameisha Prescod. Taken during the third national lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the image offers a raw look into Jameisha’s mental health struggles. Confined to their room whilst living with depression, Jameisha took to knitting to soothe their mind amongst the chaos.

In 2021 Untangling won the Wellcome Photography Prize for the Mental Health and Single Image categories.
