Jameisha Prescod FRSA is a multidisciplinary artist, journalist and writer from South London. With work grounded in a research-based practice, Jameisha explores how culture, identity, black history and colonialism influence the way illnesses are experienced. By combining visual art mediums like artists’ moving image, documentary photography and digital art with poetry and essay writing, their work reimagines how disabled stories and history can be archived in more experimental ways.
Jameisha is also the founder and creative director of You Look Okay To Me, the online space for chronic illness. They explore the social and cultural aspects of living with a chronic condition through visual mediums. Since the project's inception, the community has grown to over 40,000 online across all social platforms.
Added to their work as a visual artist, they are also a writer and was included in a republishing of Virginia Woolf's On Being Ill.
Jameisha is currently an associate artist at Forma Arts & Media, a trustee for London Arts in Health Forum an was selected for the Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Art & Culture in 2025.
